This film is about the dangers of technology and the possible abuse of power of those who control it.
The protagonist of the film is you yourself, since you experience it in first person.
Characters around you represent what is happening to you. At first, you find yourself in a bedroom. A character with a blurred face is doing mundane things in the room. The character duplicates. Then suddenly, you and the various versions of this character get pulled into a dark digital world through a hypnotic screen.
You and the characters around you lose control and surrender to the force pulling you in and the lines between reality and the digital world blend together.
You begin to question what is real and what isn’t and it becomes very meta.

Animation Difference Day 2020/ Extra journaal
Dit filmpje is gemaakt in opdracht voor Difference Dag 2020
World Press freedom day. Voor deze opdracht moesten we ons laten inspireren door quotes rond dit onderwerp. Ik heb gekozen voor een quote van Barack Obama: “We have to uphold a free press and freedom of speech because in the end lies and misinformation are no match for the truth”
De visuele inspiratie kwam vrijwel vanzelf aangezien deze opdracht volledig tot stand is gekomen in de lockdown van de Covid epidemie.
This short film was created for Difference Day 2020, an event for World Press Freedom Day. We were asked to look for inspiration in quotes about this subject. Personally, I decided to go with a quote by Barack Obama: “We have to uphold a free press and freedom of speech because in the end lies and misinformation are no match for the truth”. The visual inspiration for this video came naturally to me as I made it during the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bumper Anima 2020/ Something Shocking
De eerste opdracht van dit jaar was een groepsopdracht over alle jaren heen om de 1ste jaars te verwelkomen op de animatie afdeling. We kregen de opdracht een fictieve bumper te ontwerpen voor Anima 2020, en dit in slechts 4 dagen tijd. Ik werd door mijn groep vrijwel direct aangesteld als regisseur en compositor. Door snel de sterktes en zwaktes van ons team af te toetsen zijn we op een zeer korte tijd tot een leuk resultaat gekomen. Zelfs alle muziek en sound effects zijn binnen onze groep gemaakt. De appreciatie voor het resultaat is nog eens extra bevestigd bij Anima door ons filmpje effectief als bumper te gebruiken.
The first assignment of the year was a group project for which students from all across our animation faculty worked together to welcome the first year students. We were instructed to develop a bumper for Anima 2020 within the timespan of four days. My group asked me to direct and composite the project. By quickly assessing and playing to the strengths and weaknesses of our group members, we made a great bumper despite the lack of time. We even made the music and sound effects ourselves. The fact that Anima went on to actually use it confirmed their appreciation of our work.
